Description
Valve extenders solve the problem of inflating deep-section wheels, but they create their own problem: getting them tight enough to seal without damaging the valve core. The Zipp Tangente Tube Wrench addresses both ends of that equation with a purpose-built tool that handles valve core removal and extender installation without the improvised solutions most mechanics resort to.
The wrench features two working ends. One side fits standard Presta valve cores for removal and installation—necessary when threading on extenders, since the core needs to come out before the extender goes on and reinstall into the extender tip afterward. The other side fits Zipp's Tangente extenders specifically, providing the grip needed to snug them against the valve stem without overtightening. The knurled body offers enough purchase for hand tightening while the compact size fits in a saddlebag or jersey pocket for roadside use.
Most riders cobble together valve core tools from various sources or try to make do with small pliers, which works until you strip a core or crack an extender. A dedicated tool eliminates that frustration, particularly if you're running Zipp's wheels and extenders as a matched system. The Tangente Tube Wrench fits the specific dimensions of Zipp's extender flats, which differ slightly from generic options.... Read More
