The durable and stout Ardennes Plus LT Disc clincher wheelset provides an impressively low 1560 gram weight, with Ardennes Plus rims that are tubeless or inner tube compatible. The HED 545 hubset carries the quick, efficient Center Lock disc rotor interface. The Ardennes Plus features a 25mm external width (21mm internal) rim that extends the stiffness and aerodynamic benefits of the 23mm wide C2 technology. With the wider rim design the tire casing is allowed to spread out and make a larger contact patch with the ground. This improves cornering grip and overall handling, along with straight line stability. The wider rim also increases the amount of air volume which in turn allows the tire to be run at lower pressure. This lower pressure means that the bumps will be smoothed out in the road, which improves comfort but also reduces rolling resistance because a tire that stays in contact with the road is faster than a firmer tire that reacts and bounces slightly to less than perfect surfaces.
