Campagnolo OC-RE001 Driveside Clip for Ultra Torq BB

If you ride the Campagnolo Ultra-Torque crankset and bottom bracket system you likely know the bearings are pressed onto the crank spindles. The spindles are a two part axle joined by a Hirth coupling at the center, which is held in place by a 10mm hex bolt accessed from the non-drive side. When you remove the left side bolt, you can easily remove the left side crank arm- which you have direct control of. To prevent the heavier driveside assembly from simply sliding out, and potentially damaging the crank or rings from an impact, the engineers at Campagnolo drill two opposing holes in the driveside bottom bracket cup. This OC-RE001 Driveside Clip pops installs into both holes, outboard of the pressed-on bearing, and prevents the crankset from simply falling out when the left side is not attached.

Don't worry, when the Hirth coupling is affixed, the clip will not make contact with the bearing in any way. This is a safety device that protects your investment and you should always use it with your Ultra-Torque crankset and bottom bracket system. Simple, but spares you from scratching or nicking your crank arm and spider, or replacing an expensive chainring due to bent or damaged teeth.

  • Driveside clip that prevents Ultra-Torque crankarm from accidental release
  • You should always use this clip
  • Stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance
  • Sold as an individual item, only required for, applicable to, driveside cup
