Panaracer Race A EVO3 Tire

Many staff and customers have come to choose the Panaracer Race A over the myriad of choices in the market today, and the reasons are pretty simple. These tires have extremely low rolling resistance, but offer superb grip. They are lightweight, but durable and offer long wear times. Beyond all of this, they're easy to mount. We suppose to some degree the Panaracer Race A tires have become our house tire and over the years become an easy choice for many of us.

The Race A EVO3 is a product of innovative and proven technology that offers solid results on the road. It features Panaracer's proprietary All Contact shape and profile. This refers to the angle of the tread from the center of the tire down to the shoulder of the tread. The concept is simple, when the tire rolls over to a lean angle, you get complete contact or in this case All Contact. The angled tread on each side creates a point in the center of the tire for minimal rolling resistance. While this is a relatively new concept in the cycling world, it has been used (and proven) in the world of Moto GP (motorcycle racing ) world for some time.

The All Contact design works in tandem with Panaracer's ZSG dual compound tread. With ZSG, the center tread is a harder diameter for less resistance and faster rolling while the sides of the tire are a softer and more flexible compound for grip. Combine the dual compound ZSG tread with the AC profile and that's when the magic happens. Roll straight and fast, then lean the tire over for grip. Beyond performance, the ZSG tread is elastic and resilient which leads to longevity. We have found the wear times to be longer than many training tires.

At the core of the Race A is the super-supple AX casing. The casing's composition is soft and flexible fibers that are strong enough for durability and to handle high tire pressures, but still conform to varied and uneven surfaces. This flexibility and suppleness results in maximized grip, comfort and a certain surefooted feel in corners.

Sandwiched between the ZSG tread and AX casing is Panaracer's proprietary ProTight layer. This woven belt offers extreme protection by keeping glass shards and general road debris from penetrating the casing. What's remarkable about ProTight is super flexible and pliant. The net result is top protection without effecting the supple ride quality.

After around 500 miles would initially classify these as a VERY easy to mount, high quality, medium weight, true to size, very durable fast training tire that rides slightly on the medium/hard side even at just 90 psi. Visually the solid black looks great and they have a nice low profile. Panaracer seems to have made a solid and overall balanced tire. Can’t testify for long term durability, wet traction or cornering yet. Hope the long term durability is there given how God awful the roads are in SE Michigan. Don’t hesitate to give them a go unless your looking for a high summer good condition racing tire. Oh and did I mention the price point is great

The description is apt, riding a 25 and the contact patch is like a 23 or less. Rolling into a corner on a descent has never been faster. And they mount with no levers on every wheel I've tried. This is my new stock up tire.
