The lever body reach extends 4.6mm compared to the previous generation, which adds space between the brake lever blade and the handlebar surface. These are the rim brake levers in the R9200-series Dura-Ace lineup, and unlike the disc brake ST-R9270 that uses wireless communication, the ST-R9250 runs entirely on wired connections through Shimano's SD300 e-Tube cables. The wired approach eliminates the coin cell batteries that the wireless levers require, which means no battery swaps to think about and no potential for wireless interference in the middle of a race.
