Description
Within Cervelo's naming convention, the number five signals a distinct tier of performance: upgraded carbon layup, refined aerodynamics, and race-focused engineering that builds on a proven platform. The Aspero-5 Frameset applies this philosophy to gravel racing, taking the geometry and handling characteristics that made the original Aspero a category favorite and wrapping them in higher-grade carbon fiber with fully integrated cable routing. Cervelo's internal testing measures the aerodynamic improvement at 32 grams of drag reduction compared to the standard Aspero, a figure that accumulates across hours spent fighting headwinds on exposed gravel roads.
The frameset ships ready for a custom build, including the AB09 carbon handlebar with 16 degrees of flare, ST32 alloy stem sized to the frame, and SP19 carbon seatpost. Cervelo's D-shaped fork steerer tube works with the included bar and stem to route shift cables, brake lines, and dropper post housing internally from the lever hoods rearward. The result is a cleaner visual profile and reduced frontal area where wind resistance matters most. Retaining a standard 27.2mm round seatpost diameter preserves compatibility with dropper posts and aftermarket options without locking buyers into proprietary components.
Trail Mixer represents Cervelo's approach to maintaining consistent handling across different wheel and tire configurations. The fork's two-position adjustable dropouts allow builders to move the front axle forward or rearward by 5mm, compensating for the changed tire circumference when swapping between 700c and 650b wheels. The forward position with 700c tires produces approximately 62mm of trail for responsive handling on technical terrain. Moving the axle rearward increases trail and slows steering response, which some riders prefer for long, flat routes on smoother surfaces.... Read More
