Zipp Service Course SL-70 Ergo Handlebar

When Zipp creates a product, the principles are the same for a handlebar as those for a wheel. The Service Course SL-70 Ergo is sleek and aero, engineered for stiffness, strength, low weight, and practical design, and has a clean look and feel. This compact, 70mm reach bar has a generous curved, 128mm radius drop for maximum hand position adjustment and an extended flat end for a sprinter's grip. The top of the bar is contoured into a flat-like profile that allows the hands to drape naturally over the top with support. The radius of the bend is such that today's shift/brake levers fit smoothly into a flat top or angled position for rider comfort and clean ergonomics. We can easily see this stiff, light 7050 aluminum bar becoming the favorite for racing cyclists across all categories.

The flexibility of the lever set-up position is the key to this bar when combined with the continuous curve of the drop. For too many years riders were forced by anatomic bars into specific hand placements, or restricted lever angles. With the SL-70 Ergo, those problems are eliminated. While many traditionalists scoff at the short reach lever position, these folks aren’t paying enough attention. As lever shapes have changed the reach has grown longer. A few sharp-minded riders will realize that the longer lever with a shorter reach bar creates a cockpit that is flexible and virtually the same overall reach as the good ole stuff. Breakaway riders will love that they can run a slightly longer stem without compromising handling or tactile control. The cyclist and bike fitter need to see the whole picture in today’s cycling world. It can get complicated, but Zipp’s Service Course SL-70 Ergo is here to help. Trust in the pioneers at Zipp to deliver results- they always do.
