Description
Rim brakes persist at the highest levels of road racing for reasons that matter beyond nostalgia. The Pinarello Dogma F Rim paired with Campagnolo Super Record EPS represents an all-Italian approach to race bike construction, combining the frame platform that has accumulated Grand Tour victories with electronic shifting from the component manufacturer that invented the derailleur. This build strips away the weight penalty of hydraulic systems while retaining every aerodynamic and structural advancement that defines the current Dogma generation.
Pinarello's engineers achieved something unusual with the Dogma F Rim: measurable improvements across multiple performance dimensions simultaneously. The frame sheds 265 grams compared to the previous F12 Rim while gaining 12% stiffness around the bottom bracket. Wind tunnel testing confirmed a 4.8% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency, translating to 2.6 watts saved at 50 kilometers per hour. These gains compound across a race or a long training day, and they arrive without compromising the ride characteristics that made the Dogma lineage famous.
The Flatback tube profiles throughout the frame use truncated aerofoil shapes that comply with UCI regulations while minimizing drag. The redesigned Onda fork works aerodynamically with the front wheel, smoothing airflow over the leading edge of the bicycle. Internal cable routing through the TiCR system keeps the lines clean, though the Dogma F Rim accepts only electronic drivetrains. Asymmetric frame construction, a Pinarello signature since 2000, reinforces the driveside to counteract chain forces while allowing the non-driveside to prioritize compliance and tracking....
