Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Home Trainer Tire
The Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Home Trainer Folding tire is specifically designed for use only with a stationary trainer. One of the smarter designs we have seen for a trainer tire, it features 4 channels to dissipate heat while still offering enough tread for plenty of grip. If you have ever blown-up a standard clincher on a trainer you know why a dedicated trainer tire is important. We have seen rim sidewalls bent badly from such events, and the accompanying noise is deafening. It just isn't worth the risk.
The special rubber compound is designed for low noise, long tread life and low heat buildup A special 26 tpi casing keeps the tire shape in a firmer form than a standard casing. The bright red color remids you not to ride this tire outside- it is for trainer or roller use only. Using the Zaffiro Pro Home Trainer saves wear on your trainer, roller drums and rims from heat buildup. A must have for riders that log more than a few sessions on an indoor trainer.
- Special folding, clincher tire designed for indoor use with trainer or rollers only

- Red tread and sidewall- reminds you to never ride this tire outside

I finally have to purchase a new tire after 2 1/2 years. I ride my trainer year round, as sometimes it is too hot during the summer in AZ to ride outside. These things last a loooooooooong time. I use on a spare wheel reserved for the trainer and have never experienced overheating or blown tubes due to heat build up.
Pros Long lasting, no slip
Cons Cant find the 25 mm version

Got a new Wahoo Kickr Snap trainer and experienced a slipping rear wheel with the old road tire on the bike (a Michelin Pro3). Got this Vittorio tire to hopefully solve the problem, and it did -- no slip even at resistance for simulated 16% grade, which I was not making it up with the old road tire! Was a bit hard to get on some old Bontrager rims, but my thumbs recovered fine. Don't know how long this tire will last yet, but the Vittorio Zaffiro was a very worthwhile purchase.
Pros good grip on trainer
Cons a bit hard to mount

I've only had to purchase 1 tire since these last so long. I've had the same tire for over 6 months and the tire shows hardly any sign of wear. Unlike non-trainer tires, these do not melt onto the rollers due to heat build up.
Pros Long tread life
